Adults today will remember their teen years very well. They will remember those days that they didn’t want to work but needed to because they had to have money to support their so-called social life. Perhaps they may even have a funny anecdote or two, and will say they never liked the work they did, but they worked anyway.
Teenagers today have more opportunities to work that were non-existent during their parents’ teenage years. Fortunately for them, they may already possess some skills that they could use to earn extra income, especially online. Whereas traditionally, teenagers worked at the local hamburger joints, now they can design websites, create video games, or play online games for profit.
Here are some jobs suited for today’s teenagers.
Selling stuff on eBay – there should be lot of stuff at home that they can get rid of and earn extra on the side. Most teenagers would know the ins and outs of online auctions.
Become as social marketing consultant – a lot of companies use “social media” like Myspace, Twitter and Facebook as their advertising medium. Social media has much appeal on today’s teenagers, making them naturally inclined to hold this kind of job.
Blogging – this job requires a certain level of maturity to sustain but what matters is the teenager’s creativity and willingness to share their experiences, angst, and interests in life while earning money on the side through ads and sponsored posts.
Designing websites – this could be an offshoot of blogging for those who are technically inclined. Most young bloggers want more than the generic templates they see on blogs. They will pay good money for a design that is close to their outlook and intention of their blogs.
Writing paid articles – from blogging, writing articles for other websites or blogs is only a step away. Teenagers who are skilled in a trade can write about their craft and get paid for publishing their work on the web.
This is only a very short list of ideas on ways for teens to make money, whether from traditional jobs or online through the Internet.
